An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and ambitious candidate to join the Central Treatment Suite Team as a Tissue Viability Nurse. You will work closely with theTissue Viability Nurse Specialist and assist in the delivery of internal and external quality standards, ensuring patients receive treatment in the timeliest way possible.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will act as a specialist in tissue viability, in conjunction with the lead tissue viability nurse specialist. They will provide professional and clinical leadership across the trust to all disciplines of staff regarding tissue viability, continence and minor surgery supporting the development and implementation of best practice, enhancing quality of care and empowering both patients and healthcare professionals with knowledge.
In conjunction with the lead tissue viability nurse, they will also monitor current treatments and resources reviewing outcomes and cost effectiveness of care provision and ensure that best practice is undertaken throughout the Trust.
The post holder will support the lead tissue viability nurse specialist with training and education programmes focusing on ward based training throughout the trust. They will work closely with the tissue viability lead to assist with the implementation of audits including the development of data collection and the presentation of results in relating to catheters, pressure ulcers, dressings and Aneurisms.

Essential
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Understanding of national guidelines, frameworks and standards relating to tissue viability including NICE and NWCSP
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Advanced knowledge of the identification, prevention and management of acute and chronic wounds and pressure ulcers
- Extended time working in an acute trust
- Has significant experience working in the field of tissue viability, leg ulcer management and minor surgery
- Experience of delivering nurse led services/clinics
- Able to identify current issues relating to Tissue Viability
- Working as part of a team
- Able to demonstrate competent IT skills using systems including Words & Excel
- Flexibility and Adaptability
- Willingness to develop new skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
