An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our exceptional team as Divisional Lead Nurse. In this exciting and varied role, you will form part of the divisional triumvirate within the Division of Surgery and Women's & Children's Services.
Working alongside leadership colleagues (Divisional Operations Director, Divisional Medical Director, and appointed deputies and the Trust senior nurse leadership team), you will support and drive the strategic direction of the division and wider organisation, whilst providing effective and visible leadership to the nursing and AHP workforce.
Main duties of the job

The Lead Nurse position is pivotal to leading and influencing excellence in patient care and professional practice and covers a wide range of service responsibilities. Education and Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse (RN1) with current registration with the NMC
- Relevant degree in health care related subject
- Master's degree in healthcare related subject or demonstrable ability to work at master's degree level
- Professional management qualification (NVQ level 4)/ working towards postgraduate level or equivalent recent senior management experience
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Extensive experience in a senior nurse (8a or above) leadership role
- Evidence of achieving quality/performance achievements at a team level
- Evidence of monitoring and managing poor performance of quality indicators and implementation of successful improvement plans
- Demonstrate experience of the NHS strategic agenda together with an understanding of the current issues in nursing policy and practice
- Evidence of leading nurse recruitment and retention initiatives
- Evidence of responsibility for a delegated budget, managing financial systems and experience of budgetary management including monitoring the use of financial resources by subordinates, including professional contribution to business planning
- Evidence of having led new initiatives with multidisciplinary teams
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, inspire and support a multidisciplinary professional teams
