Job summary

The Education team at the James Paget University Hospital are recruiting a Falls Prevention and Moving and Handling Lead. The post holder will work closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues, physiotherapy teams and the wider Education and Practice Development Team. The post holder will act as a source of expert advice, support and guidance on reducing manual handling risks and maintaining compliance for staff and service users across all aspects of the organisation.

This role will play a key part in ensuring that the James Paget University Hospital, continues to engage with its future workforce in a meaningful and productive manner, helping to ensure that the career development of our nursing workforce is at the forefront of everything we do.

Main duties of the job

The individual willlead the Trust's approach to musculoskeletal risk reduction, back care, safe manual handling, and falls prevention across all care settings. The post holder provides expert clinical and ergonomic advice, designs and delivers training, coordinates multidisciplinary falls prevention pathways, and assures compliance with statutory HSE Manual Handling Operations Regulations (MHOR) and NICE falls guidance, translating national standards into local practice and measurable outcomes.
