Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to join our Renal Unit as an Assistant Practitioner.
The Assistant Practitioner plays a vital role within the Renal Unit, working as a skilled and valued member of the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. This role requires a strong foundation in renal practice, technical competence, and the confidence to work independently within defined protocols, while knowing when to escalate concerns appropriately.
You will support patients across their dialysis journey, undertaking clinical tasks, monitoring patient observations, preparing and maintaining dialysis equipment, and ensuring safety, dignity, and compassion at all times. Attention to detail, resilience, and excellent communication skills are essential, as our patients often attend long-term and build strong therapeutic relationships with staff.

Main duties of the job
To provide high quality care for patients within a multidisciplinary framework, responsible for contributing skills and tasks across multi-professional boundaries. Being accountable to heads of professions within the renal setting, according to an agreed range of skills.
