Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the friendly and supportive Ward 9 & SAU team in a leadership position. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Registered Nurse to join the team as a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse, who is able to act as an expert resource for the surgical speciality service, across the two ward areas.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting and monitoring of standards.

He/she will take part in managing appraisals, sickness management and audits for the ward team and will be expected to be able to deputise for the band 7 in her absence.He/she will support in the management responsibility for a team of nurses and will have specific responsibility for providing professional support.The post holder will be expected to carry out all relevant forms of care and will be designated to take charge of the ward on a regular basis.

  • Extensive years of post registration experince
