Job summary
This is a very exciting opportunity for a paediatric nurse to be involved in the Community Diagnostic Centre pathway for CYP's. The post holder will work closely with the respiratory team to deliver care to CYPs within the CDC and clinic. The post holder will assist with the diagnostic tests, provide reports to primary care. The post holder will review patients following attendance within ED and the ward within 48 hours and provide oversight of asthma plans.
Main duties of the job
To welcome the child and family for diagnostic assessment and follow up review
to undertake peak flow and assist with diagnostic tests for asthma
to work with the respiratory team within MDT's
To generate reports following the tests
to provide training and education
to review asthma plans
To review patients following attendance in hospital with an acute asthma attack

- RSCN/RN Child or equivalent
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Preparation for mentorship (ENB 988 or equivalent)
Desirable
- Management/Team leading qualification
Knowledge and experience
Essential
- Has had experience in managing respiratory children in the acute setting
- Paediatric nursing experience in both acute and community settings
- Acute paediatric nursing experience of working in a team and independently
Skills and Knowledge

- Ability to work confidently and autonomously and remain calm under stress
- IT skills
- Flexible approach to working pattern
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
