Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for dynamic, innovative and motivated band 5 Staff Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team on Ward 9 & SAU.

Ward 9 is a 20 bedded surgical ward where we care for with a mixture of elective and emergency general surgical, orthopaedic, gynaecology and urology patients. SAU is a same day emergency care unit that the team also run, working dynamically across both environments.

While working on the ward you will have the opportunity to further develop your nursing skills and communication skills liaising with the wider MDT.

We actively promote personal development. We encourage staff to take on the role as link nurses in areas that interests you, eg: tissue viability.

Main duties of the job

Complete daily nursing tasks including administration of medication, completing observations and reassurance for patients undergoing or who have gone through surgery. Working closely with members of the MDT in order to promote early mobilization, optimized analgesia and safe, early discharge home.
