As a Band 5 radiographer you can be assured you will be supported and developed in your role. All newly qualified radiographers complete a preceptorship programme and are supported by the senior team, mentors and practice educators.

Main duties of the job
Deliver high quality medical imaging and accurately appraise and interpret images within own scope of practice
To maintain excellent standards of patient care.
Liaise with other colleagues and departments in a professional manner, to ensure the delivery of an efficient radiographic service.
You will be expected to work across different sites including the main hospital and the Community Diagnostic Centre and to participate in the out of hours rota

Undertake all types of imaging according to standard operating procedures, including both local policies and according to manufacturers guidelines.
Ensure all examinations are carried out according to professional code of conduct for Radiographers, and adhering to safety procedures e.g. IR(ME)R
Always introduce yourself to the patient, My name is
Obtain the correct consent from patients prior to undertaking procedures.
Considers patients safety and wishes at all times, alerting others if there is deterioration in the patients condition or a withdrawal of consent.
Adapt techniques to suit patients needs if possible, taking into consideration risk factors and managing that risk.
Prioritise in-patient requests according to clinical need as required.
Ensure clinical rooms are checked for use at the start of the day and maintain the room throughout the day, including cleaning, stocking up, safety etc

- HCPC registration/Pending if a student
Desirable
- Training in Radiation Protection
- Training in Health & Safety

- Ability to prioritise work under pressure
- Recent NHS experience/including students training in the NHS
- Familiar with SECTRA PACS and CRIS/RIS

- Out of hours experience
