Senior Imaging Healthcare Assistant (Ultrasound)

Job summary

We have 1.2wte Senior Imaging Assistant hours aare looking to employ two Imaging Department Assistants (IDA) to work within our small, forward thinking friendly Ultrasound department here at the James Paget University Hospital.

The department provides services 7 days a week (including evenings during the week). There are opportunities for a flexible working pattern.

Main duties of the job

The role of the IDA is to provide support for the sonographer and radiologist during the ultrasound examination and to care for each patient, maintaining their safety and dignity at all times. In addition to this there will be a need to manage the clinical rooms, cleaning duties and stock maintenance as well as liaising with wards and portering services when appropriate.

The successful candidates will have a professional and pleasant manner, good communication skills and be able to work as part of a team to provide a patient focussed service. They must be able to work flexibly, adapting to different scenarios which may arise within a hospital environment.
