Job summary
To assess basic and specialist care needs of patients attending Community Diagnostic Centres at both the James Paget Hospital and Northgate CDC site and implement care without direct supervision. The Nurse should at all times act in such a manner as to justify public trust and confidence to safeguard the interest of individual patients.
Main duties of the job

To work with senior sister and the CDC team build successful links between key professionals to support and promote effective multi-disciplinary team working .

To ensure the patients receive high quality clinical care and a good patient experience, having regard for their customs, religious beliefs and doctrines

Is wholly accountable for his / her practice in line with the NMC code of professional conduct and takes every reasonable opportunity to sustain and improve his / her knowledge and professional competence

Ensure that agreed standards of nursing practice within the department area are maintained.

Ensure that all Trust, Divisional, and Ward/Department Health & Safety Policies are adhered to.

Maintain personal contact with patients, other health care disciplines, relatives and visitors.

Mentorship and support of new staff and students in the department.

Ensure documentation for care is maintained.

To undertake appropriate enhanced roles, following the necessary training, e.g. IV drug administration, ILS and ALERT.

To have knowledge of and to adhere to Ionising Radiation Regulations.

To prepare examination rooms appropriately with required equipment for all procedures. To assist the Radiographers, cardiac and respiratory physiologist and clinical specialist with any process necessary for examination, investigation and treatment of patients.
