Job summary

The post holder will work closely with the Surgical Divisional Triumvirate Team to provide accurate and confidential administrative support.

The post holder will provide a comprehensive PA service, as well as leadership and managerial support to the Divisional Administrator.

Main duties of the job

The Division of Surgery are seeking an experienced Personal Assistant with highly developed skills who can work effectively as part of a team as well as working independently providing a comprehensive administration service.

To take on this role, you will need to be able to work flexibly to manage and organise your own workload. You will need to have excellent administration and organisation skills which will enable you to provide a quality administrative service.

The post holder must prioritise workload on a daily and ad-hoc basis, according to the needs of the organisation and must ensure that deadlines are achieved.

Essential

  • RSA 3 Typing/Word Processing or equivalent as minimum criteria.

Desirable

  • Recognised secretarial/administrative qualifications.

Experience and knowledge

Essential

  • Relevant and significant experience working at a senior level for a Director or other senior individual including diary management and formal minute taking to a high standard.
  • Evidence of self-development or training in administration and or/office practices
  • Used to working across a range of activities.
  • Fully conversant with MS Office applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook).

Desirable

  • Excellent awareness of the terminology used within the health system.
  • Knowledge of the NHS.
