Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team on a temporary basis in the role of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional (NMAHP) Research and Evaluation Associate. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months to cover maternity.
This post supports the NMAHP research and evaluation service (NMAHP-RES). The service is dedicated to building capacity and capability of the NMHAP workforce in leading design, delivery and dissemination of research and evaluation projects undertaken for the benefit of patients and the workforce.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have experience in developing and conducting evaluation and/or research activities and will be required to support existing portfolios of 'home-grown' projects led by JPUH staff. They will also have the opportunity to develop their own portfolio on an area of personal interest in line with our NMAHP priorities (clinical care indicators, workforce recruitment and retention, data to impact patient care and sustainable 'green' healthcare), to teach and train staff, and to mentor staff new to this type of care activity.
Where evaluation projects lend themselves to potential research activity, the post holder will be required to write grant applications for external and internal funding routes. Some evaluation projects may link to quality improvement therefore there will be a close working relationship with our JPUH QI Hub.
Implementation and sustainability of results / impact is important to us, as is dissemination of project results and outcomes. The post holder should have experience in, or be prepared to, present results at local, regional, (inter)national events, and write for publication, as well as being comfortable with less traditional routes of dissemination.
The post holder will have opportunities to undertake post-graduate modules or pathways as part of the role, embedding research development within our own service.
The post is fixed term for 12 months and can be taken as a secondment.
