The James Paget University Hospital is delighted to be recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and driven individual to be a part of the Norfolk and Waveney International Recruitment Hub which is based at our hospital. The Norfolk and Waveney International Recruitment Hub provides recruitment, on-boarding, pastoral support and training to over 300 internationally educated nurses who arrive in our system each year. The service supports NHS and social care providers in Norfolk and Waveney, working in partnership with a number of different employers.

We are looking for a highly organised and well- motivated individual who understands the importance of working towards targets and to tight deadlines. You will be an effective communicator.

This role is a great opportunity for an induvial looking to be involved in a ground breaking new way of working with the NHS and Social Care as we look to collaborate together.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will enable this process through classroom as well as clinical based activities, acting at all times as a role model and personally promoting the ethos of lifelong learning.
  • Promote and Support education, practice development work and new equipment.
  • The post holder will work independently with guidance and clear objectives but manage own workload on day to day basis.
  • The post holder will teach a variety of clinical programmes and be actively involved with supporting preceptors within the clinical area.
  • The post holder will provide teaching for all groups of staff.
  • The post holder will support a variety of learners in the clinical environment.
  • Co-ordinate teaching programme as required.
  • Provide teaching in both the clinical setting and the classroom.
  • Record competences.
  • Respond to educational requirements that emerge from service needs.
  • Policy development.
  • Be involved in Practice Development projects.
  • Attend various appropriate meeting to represent Trust.

The Post holder will promote best practice at all times, providing support and leadership to Nursing and staff Trust wide.

The post holder will work under supervision of the head of education and alongside the education and practice development team to orientate and support Registered nurses from overseas within the clinical area. Work closely with key players in the organisation to plan, develop, facilitate and evaluate learning and pastoral activities to ensure that all nurses from overseas are supported through their orientation, clinical training and preparation for OSCE assessment as required.

The post holder will be committed to work full time with overseas nurses and expected to have flexible approach to working patterns to fulfil the potential of each and every one of our overseas nurses, no matter what their transitional, support and educational needs are.
