Job summary
A vacancy has arisen for a Materials Management & Logistics Operative, to work within the Procurement Department of the James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, flexible and committed person to join the team.
Materials Management & Logistics cover Stock top-up, Receipt & Distribution & Postal Services. Applicants must have previous experience of receipt and distribution and strong customer service skills. It is essential candidates have the ability to undertake manual handling.
Candidates must be flexible in their role, as the post will form part of a multi skilled team. Basic computer skills are required as the successful candidates will use various software programs to produce documentation as part of their duties.
The rate of pay is in accordance with "Agenda for Change" Band 2.

About us
Materials Management & Logistics are a small, friendly and hardworking team that provide a service to all areas of the JPUH (and sometimes beyond).
They work closely with their Procurement colleagues to ensure that the right goods and services are provided to both clinical and non-clinical colleagues across the Trust. Operatives report directly to the Materials Management & Logistics Supervisor, who in turn, reports into the Procurement Team.

- To accept the delivery of all incoming goods for the various departments within the Hospital, including loan sets for theatres, samples and medications for Pathology and Pharmacy.
- Undertake delivery rounds to all relevant user points within the James Paget Hospital, delivery and collections of goods and stock in accordance with the Quality manual.
- Using the Powergate system to correctly book in and authorise payment by the Finance Department of goods received.
- Ensure all returns are dealt with effectively/promptly and records maintained.
- Ensuring the Postal service is maintained within the Trust.
