Band 6 Occupational Therapist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our community paediatric Occupational Therapy team based at the Newberry Child Development Centre. Come join our forward thinking, committed Paediatric Occupational Therapy Team who place patient care and your professional and personal development to the forefront. We are looking for a positive, proactive clinician with skills in the field of Paediatrics, to help us build a strong future for therapy and increase the profile of Occupational Therapy within the service. You will have your own clinical caseload, providing advanced specialist assessments and interventions to a wide range of children and young people. You will also provide clinical support to team members and students, as well as assist in their training and development. You will play a role in service development working closely with the Paediatric leadership team.

Main duties of the job
As a Band 6Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for your own complex caseload consisting of patients with a variety of different conditions, whilst leading on the supporting/training of team members within this specialist field and to manage their own caseloads. Good prioritisation, organisational and time management skills will be required to balance clinical duties. You will need advanced communication skills to ensure a successful multidisciplinary approach to patient care, working in close liaison with the other teams including Neurodevelopmental and Physiotherapy. You will be in regular discussions with children, young people and their families, as well as other health, education and social care professionals. You will be responsible for other non-clinical duties such as in-service development ideas, training/supervision of students, and therapy assistant practitioners.
