Job summary

The post aim is to drive improvement and enhance the quality of the learning environment within the practice

Responsible for promoting evidence based practice through the coordination and facilitation of clinical education and other staff development strategies to a range of health professionals working in the endoscopy unit.

To have a visible presence in the endoscopy unit working clinically alongside learners to enhance the quality of the learning environment; acting as a positive, professional role model in promoting clinical excellence.

To support the maintenance of JAG compliance with regards to endoscopy specific training and education.

To maintain staff training records locally within the department and on JETS database

To support the Band 6 coordinators/ Senior Sister in the day to day business of the service as required

To participate in the on-call rota.

Main duties of the job

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our JAG accredited Endoscopy Unit in an exciting new post as a dedicated clinical educator for endoscopy.

Are you an experienced registered nurse with endoscopy experience?

Are you looking to further your development whilst demonstrating your passion for teaching and inspiring others?

You will work in collaboration with the endoscopy management team to assist in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of clinical education and staff development programs aimed at developing, maintaining and continually enhancing the clinical skills of staff working in the endoscopy unit.

A keen desire and self-motivation to develop this new clinical educator role is essential. This role will have both clinical and leadership components and displaying dexterity for juggling roles and responsibilities is fundamental. The individual needs to be able to demonstrate the ability to work autonomously under pressure and manage the mental and emotional demands of a role that requires flexibility and exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will be required to join the on-call team and support the service out of hours, a willingness to work across 7 days and unsocial hours is an expectation of the role.

Clinical1. To be in charge of the day to day operational management of the unit, liaising closely with the manager of the Unit.2.
