The Head of Education, Learning and Development is a broad and varied role providing leadership for the provision of innovative and research-led education and workforce development.
The role exists to ensure the development of a highly motivated, skilled and engaged workforce committed to delivering our vision of best care for everyone.
The post-holder will be able to work autonomously, but also require strong, productive working relationships across the Trust and with ICS and education partners, being a visible, accessible and authoritative presence.
The post holder will lead the service comprising of a range of roles including internal education Systems, Manual handling, Resuscitation, Library and Knowledge Services, Professional Education Practitioners, Practice Education Facilitators, administrators and apprenticeship/work experience lead.

Main duties of the job
- The role of the Head of Clinical Education & Practice Development/Non-Medical Clinical Tutor is to work across the clinical divisions and the organisation, leading on the practice development, education and quality agenda and, using highly developed specialist knowledge from theoretical and experiential sources.
- The role will actively contribute to the proactive development of the Trust's workforce.
- The role will be responsible for the co-ordination, quality management and control of the non-medical education of professionals and pre-registration professionals across the organisation and is responsible for the delivery of educational standards and objectives as within the Health Education contracts.
- The Clinical Education and Practice Development/Non-Medical Clinical Tutor will work closely with the Medical Tutor to ensue multi-professional education and development opportunities are optimised for all healthcare staff.
- This role involves extensive leadership of and participation in a wide portfolio of strategic educational and practice development initiatives both internal and external to the Trust.

- Appropriate experience in healthcare education, working at system level with HEI's, partners across the ICS/region and NHSE, both regionally and nationally

- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of current developments in NHS education and the wider NHS
