Staff Nurse: Windsor Suite Ward 8

Hours per week: 37.5

Job Type: Fixed term (Maternity cover)

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career as a registered nurse within a speciality that is rapidly expanding. We require an enthusiastic and motivated staff nurse to join our team so we can provide an excellent service to our patients. Ideally you will have some experience of work within an ophthalmic setting and be proactive towards developing your ophthalmic skills, however if you are newly qualified nurse or do not have experience within this area we will provide you with a full teaching package to support your development.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be an enthusiastic professional, with the passion and drive to provide the highest quality ophthalmic care to their patients. We work very closely with our medical team and all health care professionals and this is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse who is dynamic, friendly and thrives to provide an excellent standard of care

The role will include being responsible for assessing, planning and implementing specialist care and advice and will involve working in the day surgery unit and pre-operative assessment.

Applicants must be well organised with a proven ability to multitask, be professional and have an approachable manner. Applicants should be able to use their own judgement to resolve issues and have a tactful, sensitive approach to managing often challenging situations.
