Job summary
The Acute Oncology Service (AOS) delivers a 7-day service to patients admitted to Peterborough City Hospital and as well as Hinchingbrooke Hospital (5 days a week) with complications of systemic anti-cancer treatments (SACT) and radiotherapy treatments.
The post holder will support the nursing team clinically with the review and care of unwell patients attending the haematology oncology unit. They will support the Acute Oncology (AOS) team with triaging the emergency phone and maintain delivery of the service from an administration aspect, including the undertaking of audits as well as the collating of patient data.
Main duties of the job
Clinically support the nursing team with acutely unwell patients.
Triage the emergency phone to ensure the patient calls are managed and directed to the right people/department whilst ensuring to escalate where appropriate.
Support the CUP CNS
Assist in the admin of the team, to allow for service maintenance and development.
