Job summary

Are you passionate about improving staff wellbeing and bringing psychological expertise into workplace health? We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Clinical Associate in Psychology (CAP) to join our Occupational Health team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

As a CAP, you will work as a semi-autonomous practitioner within a defined scope of practice, under the direct supervision of our HCPCregistered Workplace Clinical Psychologist. This is a unique opportunity to provide a specialist mental health service for our staff, supporting individuals and teams through evidence-based interventions, consultation, training and service development.

This post has been created to support national and organisational priorities in enhancing staff wellbeing, psychological safety and compassionate leadership. You will play a key role in shaping a positive culture, strengthening resilience across our workforce and ensuring the safe, effective delivery of psychologically informed support.

This is an exciting chance to make a real difference to the wellbeing of our NHS workforce. You will receive high-quality supervision, opportunities for continued professional development and the chance to contribute to innovative, values-driven service delivery.

This post is being offered on a fixed-term basis as we trial the role to evaluate its impact on staff wellbeing and the wider Occupational Health service. If the trial is successful there is potential for the role to become permanent.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide psychological assessments, formulations and interventions for staff (individual and group) under supervision.
  • Work alongside the Occupational Health team and Trust colleagues, offering consultation, training and psychological expertise.
  • Support service evaluation, research and outcome measurement to enhance practice.
  • Contribute to staff development programmes that promote wellbeing and compassionate leadership.
  • Uphold high standards of governance, confidentiality and professional ethics.

  • First degree in Psychology
  • Successfully completed an accredited MSC degree apprenticeship in Clinical Associate of Psychology in mental health in adults or children
  • Has registration as a CAP with the British Psychological Society (BPS) on their Wider Psychological Workforce Register
  • Understand BPS Professional Code of Conduct, local and national policies and procedures that define scope of practice
