Job summary
We are seeking applications from an enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced MRI Radiographer looking to develop into leadership.
You will be jointly responsible for the daily supervision of an integrated, responsive and effective MR Imaging service, coordinating resource to ensure the continuity of services and ensuring compliance with national standards.
You will supervise and support staff on a daily basis, ensuring best clinical practice and full utilisation of the resource available.
You will work closely with the MRI Principal Operational Radiographer, Operational Radiographers and Senior Leadership team to ensure the department objectives are being translated into daily practice.
Main duties of the job
A member of the Diagnostic Imaging Section Head Team, the MRI Operational Radiographer will report directly to the MRI Principal Operational Radiographer giving them support in the running of the MRI unit.
They will be jointly responsible for the day to day operation of the MRI Department, providing an effective, efficient service. The Post holder will be expected to represent the MRI Unit and the Diagnostic Imaging Department at both internal and external meetings as required.
Report to the Imaging Services Manager and Assistant Imaging Professional Lead on the effectiveness of the services, suggesting changes where appropriate to improve quality control, patient care and workload patterns within the confines of agreed Local Trust practises.
Work alongside the MRI Principal Operational Radiographer to maintain high levels of quality, safety and care within the unit promoting best practice and implementing the most up to date working practices.
Responsible for directing the duties of all non-medical staff, and their allocation and rotation within the Department. Be involved in the training of Radiographers seconded to the Department, including the planning of training programmes in conjunction with the MRI Principal Operational Radiographer.
