In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and commissioning a wide range of medical and healthcare equipment used across multiple clinical settings--from wards and theatres to critical care and emergency departments. You'll play a central role in keeping our equipment safe, compliant, and fully operational to support patient care.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver preventative maintenance, servicing, calibration, and repairs on a broad range of electrical, electronic, and mechanical medical devices.
  • Support the commissioning and acceptance of new medical equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out corrective actions on patient-connected and life-support systems.
  • Provide technical advice and support to clinical staff, promoting safe and effective equipment use.
  • Work across various departments, occasionally under pressure, to support urgent clinical needs.
  • Maintain meticulous technical records in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards and Trust protocols.
  • Contribute to training, continuous improvement, and development initiatives within the Clinical Engineering service.
