Job summary

Applications are invited for an exciting opportunity of a Fixed Term Contract or Secondment until end December 2025 for an 18.75 hour post Band 8b ME-5 Pathology Network Workforce Domain Lead. (secondment - subject to existing employer approval)

This is a fantastic and rare opportunity to develop your leadership skills and lead on the development of the ME-5 pathology Network workforce strategy within a developing Pathology network.

The role will be hosted by North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust but will be based across the ME5 Pathology Network which includes three Foundation Trusts - Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS FT, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS FT, North West Anglia NHS FT. The Network also works closely with Royal Papworth Hospital NHS FT.

Main duties of the job

The Network Workforce Domain Lead leads and is responsible for the development, strategic co-ordination and implementation of workforce initiatives for the ME-5 Pathology Network in line with the criteria and objectives set out in the NHS England Pathology Transformation Maturity Matrix (in particular Domain 6 Workforce) and Member Trust local objectives.

  • Evidence of successful delivery of a multi-organisation Workforce programmes and project in a service improvement role
  • Experience of planning organisational resources to support programme/ project implementation
  • Business and service planning experience
  • Experience in change management
  • Demonstrable experience of service redesign within a health or social care setting

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Relevant Masters degree or equivalent level of knowledge, experience and skills
  • Able to demonstrate ongoing personal development
  • Significant training or experience in Workforce programme management.

Desirable

  • Membership of relevant professional body or equivalent
  • Masters level (Workforce) Management/Leadership course or qualification

  • Knowledge of IT, Quality and health intelligence, benchmarking and data sources
  • Ability to analyse and act upon complex information from various sources
  • Able to prepare reports that are lucid, informative and persuasive
