Applications are invited for the role of Mortuary Assistant/Bereavement Care Officer to join our dedicated team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. Main duties of the job

  • To undertake a variety of activities associated with the post mortem care of patients including reception, transfers, identifications, and viewings of the deceased.
  • To ensure that documentation and electronic records are created accurately and maintained appropriately.
  • To ensure that deceased and their relatives are treated, at all times, with respect and dignity.
  • Preparation of legal documents and other paperwork necessary to deal with the death.
  • Liaise with and assisting doctors, coroner's officers, registrars and other professionals in carrying out duties related to the death.

Knowledge and Expereience

  • Experience of working with sensitive and confidential information
  • Well developed IT skills, knowledge of Microscoft Office and use of databases

  • Expereience of working in a hospital environment
  • Previous expereince caring for the bereaved
