Job summary

We are currently undertaking an exciting redesign of ENT service outpatient provision within the Head and Neck Department. The post will require a Registered Nurse to provide safe and compassionate care to our patients who require ENT specialist services.

You will be required to support and assist Consultants, Clinicians, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team in the clinic setting and will ensure the efficient delivery of the outpatient provision with the support of the wider ENT team, Operational team, Deputy Sister and Sister.

Main duties of the job

You will use specialised skills for supporting patients undergoing assessment and treatments within the ENT clinical setting. This will involve assisting the Medical Staff in all aspects of patient procedures and care.

The post holder will also be involved in supporting with local anaesthetic procedures within the outpatient setting, this may include insertion of grommets or hearing aid implants. This expectation will be managed within an extended skill set, for which the post holder will undergo a period of training and assessment, to ensure confidence and competency.

You will be expected to manage stock & maintain equipment. If required by the department, you may be asked to undergo procurement training, to assist with ordering stock and appliances.

You will understand the administration and appointment system used within the department. You will be competent to record personally generated information and be efficient in data entry.

You will be expected to participate in the maintenance and cleaning of specialised equipment. You will be expected to participate in general cleaning of the department.

The post holder will be a part of the wider nursing team in the Head and Neck Department and may be expected, on occasion, to work across the other specialities.

To carry our all duties, the post holder will be covered by North West Anglia Foundation Trust Indemnity, in line with all clinical staff working within the Trust.
