Main duties of the job
As an Audiology Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our Audiologists and ensuring the smooth running of clinics. Your responsibilities will include:
- Patient Care & Support: Assist in children's hearing assessments and hearing aid clinics under supervision, ensuring a welcoming and supportive experience for families.
- Hearing Aid Maintenance: Perform routine hearing aid servicing, including retubing ear moulds, replacing batteries, and providing patients with clear instructions for use.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate patient records, manage stock and supplies, prepare ear moulds for manufacture, and assist with other clerical duties as needed.
- Clinic Preparation: Support Audiologists in preparing clinics, patients, and equipment for appointments.
- Equipment Management: Ensure all audiology equipment is prepared, maintained, and ready for use.
- System Proficiency: Use Trust systems such as Auditbase and etrack to manage patient information efficiently.
- Disability Awareness: Demonstrate sensitivity to the communication needs of hearing-impaired individuals.
- Continuous Learning: Undertake relevant training to develop knowledge and work towards extended responsibilities.
