Are you seeking a career within Pharmacy Services or maybe you're a current Pharmacy dispenser / assistant / PSW seeking a new challenge?

We are now inviting applications for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our Pharmacy Dispensaries team based at Peterborough City Hospital for a full time, band 2 Pharmacy Support Worker role.

As part of the role, we will support you to develop the core competencies needed to carry out the full range of duties through work experience and training, which will result in the completion of the level 2 dispensing course. We are also excited to be able to offer progression to Band 3, following the successful completion of all training and sign off on all the specific job competencies - likely to take around 12 months.

With our new Band 2 to 3 progression route there is no better time to join NWAFT Pharmacy department.

Main duties of the job

This essential post provides the opportunity for a committed person to learn pharmacy skills with both new and innovative technology and systems within a busy outpatient and inpatient dispensary and Pharmacy service.

  1. Assist in the accurate receipt, storage, supply, issue and distribution of stock pharmaceuticals, including intravenous fluids to wards, departments and external customers
  2. Be responsible for the assessment of and subsequent re-cycling, returning or disposal of stock from the ward areas against agreed criteria.

  • GSCE Maths, English and Science Grade C or 4 above

Experience
