Job summary

Join us as we embark on a once in a generation journey to create a state-of-the-art hospital

In 2023, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care launched the New Hospital Programme (NHP), a national initiative to redevelop 40 hospital schemes across the UK. NWAFT is proud to be part of this transformative programme, with plans to develop a new, purpose-built smart digital hospital at the Hinchingbrooke Hospital site by 2030-31. This project is not just about new buildings; it's about re-imagining healthcare delivery with advanced digital tools, innovative care pathways, and new workforce models.

As a key member of the HHRP project team, you will provide leadership, project management, and strategic support to ensure the successful delivery of the redevelopment programme. You will work across organisational boundaries, collaborating with clinical, operational, and digital teams to achieve our ambitious goals.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead and manage complex projects within the HHRP, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Support the PMO Manager in embedding best practices across the programme and mentoring colleagues involved in project implementation.
  • Develop and monitor project plans, manage risks, track progress, and ensure clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the design and facilitation of mobilisation events, ensuring leadership and engagement in the transformation process.
  • Assist in the seamless closure and operational handover of projects, ensuring all benefits are realised and lessons learned are shared.

About us

We are dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusivity within our workforce and warmly welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, with a particular emphasis on encouraging those from disabled, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, as well as candidates from our local area.

As part of our commitment to supporting our employees we offer a range of benefits including:

  • Generous annual leave entitlement starting at 27 days and increasing to 29 days after five years of service and 33 days after 10 years of service, in addition to the national Bank Holidays (pro-rata for part time staff);
  • Membership of the NHS Pension Scheme:
  • Flexible working opportunities;
  • Enhanced hourly rates for unsociable hours e.g. night shifts, weekends, bank holidays;
  • Opportunities for career development and training to help you progress in your role;
  • Wellbeing support and activities to promote a healthy work environment;
  • Access to our in-house physiotherapy service;
  • On-site canteens offering subsidised meals;
  • Subsidised staff parking (currently free);
  • Free Stagecoach Bus Travel to and from work within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough

We strive to create a supportive and inclusive workplace where employees feel valued and empowered to excel in their roles. Join us and become part of a team dedicated to making a positive difference in our community.
