Job summary

The Respiratory Investigations department has shown a rapid and substantial increase in activity and development of services. New infrastructure and equipment has been purchased to keep up with the demand. We are have a satellite community lung function service at Doddington Hospital and are involved in setting up the CDC for our area.

The physiologist led service has been running for 12 years and has seen 5000+ patients. This service won a Trust award for outstanding achievement in living our trust values. This service has in excess of 200 new referrals per month cross site.

The Respiratory Investigations team currently consists of 8 Respiratory Physiologists who work across the Trust's sites. The department provides a diagnostic service to inpatients, outpatients and a Direct Access service for GPs. The department performs basic and advanced respiratory function tests on both paediatric and adult patients for a wide range of specialties.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a qualified, enthusiastic and reliable Respiratory Clinical Physiologist to join us in this expanding, dynamic department of Respiratory Investigations. The successful applicant will be able to perform and report on a comprehensive range of pulmonary function tests including exercise tests, muscle assessment, provocation tests, skin allergy testing, hypoxic challenge and basic sleep studies. The post holder will play a key role in helping to further develop the service, including assisting with the implementation of new tests.
