Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Breast Unit at Peterborough City Hospital. The Breast Unit incorporates Breast Screening Services and also Breast Outpatient Symptomatic clinics. It is a busy department that works very closely with the Cancer Services Clinical Business Unit.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit a part time Healthcare Assistant (0.5 WTE) to join us within the Breast Unit of Peterborough City Hospital.

The successful candidate will work within our Symptomatic Breast Outpatient Clinics, be caring, have good communication skills and a willingness to learn and develop. Our Healthcare Assistants are an intrinsic part of our clinical teams, working closely with our Nurses offering support to patients who have been referred to our service. The role includes receiving patients into the clinic, booking them in, chaperoning, giving information and advice, assisting and supporting with clinicians/nursing team with procedures.

Other duties include ensuring event packs are available for clinics and returned at the end to medical records or secretaries, maintenance of stock and tidiness of examination, treatment and consulting rooms.
