An extremely exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nursery Nurse to join our friendly neonatal teams on the neonatal units at Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital. This is a fantastic prospect for a Nursery Nurse who is looking to expand their experience into both clinical and community settings. You will join an enthusiastic and motivated multidisciplinary team committed to delivering excellence in neonatal care. Successful Band 4 candidates must hold NNEB/NVQ Level 3 Childcare or equivalent and have a keen interest in the specialty of Neonatal Nursing.
Main duties of the job
The role entails supporting and empowering women in their choice of infant feeding on the neonatal unit and providing parents/care givers with additional education to support them taking care of their babies in the neonatal unit and beyond. The post-holder will also be expected to support the Neonatal Feeding Advisor with the implementation of UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative and maintain baby friendly standards across NWAFT. The post holder will facilitate and support the transition of care for the neonate and their family from the neonatal unit to home, implementing and evaluating programmes of agreed care and ensuring the provision of a high standard of family centred evidence based care within the neonatal unit and in the community.
