Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Housekeeper to work within Cancer services at Woodlands Centre in Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

You must be organised, self motivated and enthuastic to join our Teams, and who would like to make a difference to the patient experience on the ward.

The Ward Housekeeper role is to support the Clinical Staff by maintaining and restocking all areas within the department, stock rotation and liaising with the materials management Team.

You will be expected to maintain high standards of organisation in the department by ensuring the department is kept tidy and clinical equipment is maintained.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for meeting and greeting new patients/visitors to the ward, ensuring they have up to date knowledge of planned patient flow and patient requirements relating to fluid, nutrition etc.

Ensure a high standard of tidiness and cleanliness is maintained in all parts of Woodlands Centre, and report identified problems to the Senior nurse.

Ensure Woodlands Centre is always tidy, deal with emergencies, spots, spills, and floods.

Cleaning of specialist equipment according to current policies and procedures relating to Infection Control, COSHH and Health and Safety, e.g., drip stands, O2 and suctions, Resus Trolley, ECG machine, infusion pumps in conjunction with domestic cleaning provider.

Ensure that there is an adequate supply of linen, and that linen is stored in a tidy and appropriate manner.

Work with other members of the Unit team to ensure adequate supplies of stationary, undertaking photocopying of local documents, policies and procedures when requested.

Stock up draws in the Treatment room and ensure store cupboard/Equipment cupboards are kept tidy and clean.

Ensure all areas are clean and tidy within the Unit. Participate in regular monthly cleaning audits or when required and instructed by the Unit Manager.

Your hours of work will be 22.5hrs, Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays.
