As part of this role, the successful applicant will be required to rotate to our Amazon Ward at Peterborough City Hospital this could be potentially for 3 months of the year, we would though give a minimum 8 week notice period for when this would take place.

Position requires Registered Nurse Child Branch registration.

Main duties of the job

Our Children's Unit includes a 12-bedded inpatient ward with one High Dependency bed, supported by our Paediatric Assessment Unit and 6 bedded day case area. Outpatient clinics also run Monday to Friday from within the unit.

As part of this role you will be expected to rotate to Peterborough City Hospital Children Wards for up to three months of the year to extend your knowledge and skills in paediatric nursing.

We are a busy department in what can be a fast-paced environment. The right candidate will need to be a good communicator, be innovative and self-motivated.

They should be committed to the provision of high standards of patient care for our children and families.

As the coordinator for the shift you will be expected to manage the unit on a day to day basis, be responsible for collecting data on dependency and RAG rating of staffing, managing admission and discharge capacity, and escalating concerns to the Unit Sister and the Lead Nurse.

Ensure that patient care remains a priority in inter-professional practice and that referrals to the MDT are timely and discharge planning takes place where appropriate.

We are looking for a flexible individual to work full or part time hours. This post will include internal rotation 11.5 hour shifts, days, nights and weekends.
