An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our committed team of Diabetes Specialist Nurses. This is a substantive post, full-time (37.5 hours per week). You will be required to cover a flexible working day pattern including weekends and public holidays. You will report to the Diabetes Specialist Nurse Site Lead and be accountable to the Lead Nurse Diabetes.
Your base will be Hinchingbrooke Hospital, but all staff are asked to support services at other Trust sites as needed.

Main duties of the job
We are a friendly team of Specialist Nurses, Diabetes Care Technicians, Consultants/Doctors, Admin staff and allied health professionals providing a high standard of individualised patient care across both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
We are looking for a dynamic and caring Registered Nurse who is a great communicator, non-judgemental, passionate about diabetes care and who can work using their own initiative.
Depending on your experience and/or diabetes knowledge base, this post may be offered at a Band 5 with progression to Band 6 following successful completion of a period of competency based training and support (Expected timeframe 3-6 months).
The Diabetes Specialist Nursing Team provide an on-going 7-day inpatient service. Following your initial support period, you will be expected to join the weekend roster to provide diabetes care, support and advice to patient and staff at weekends and public holidays.
