Ward Clerk - Medical Short Stay Unit - Peterborough

Job summary

Medical Short Stay Unit is a 31 bedded, fast paced unit which has 7 days a week ward clerk cover.

We are looking for a well organised, confident and motivated person with admin experience to join our team of admin staff who are an important part of the ward team. You will need to be able to deal with concerned patients and relatives as they arrive onto the ward, so excellent communication skills are essential. Previous experience in a hospital environment would be an advantage. You will need to be a team player and be able to work unsupervised. You will need to be able to work collaboratively with other team members , be highly organised and able to work under pressure.

Main duties of the job

You will provide reception and clerical cover; manage medical notes including filing, answering telephone calls, deal with non-clinical enquiries, deal with other general administrative duties. You will need to liaise closely with the multidisciplinary team.
