Our Healthcare Assistants' Recruitment Day will take place on Tuesday, the 5th of December at Peterborough City Hospital, Learning and Development Centre.

The recruitment day will split in two sessions, and you can choose the session you are able to attend:

  • Morning interview session - 08:00-12:00
  • Afternoon interview session - 16:00-18:00

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be passionate about improving the life of our patients while demonstrating a flexible approach and excellent communication skills. You will show a respectful, caring, and compassionate attitude in your daily duties.

All the roles are permanent and offered on a full-time and part-time basis. Flexible working opportunities would be considered where possible.

Typical shift patterns are 07:00 - 19:30 and 19:00 - 07:30, across all seven days of the week (including bank holidays).

Your daily duties will be performed under the kind supervision of our registered staff. The main duties may include:

  • Personal care, food, personal hygiene and overall reassurance, comfort, and safety.
  • Help patients move around.
  • Learn about individuals' specific needs and provide help in the most appropriate way.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable clinical environment to live and work in.
  • Communicate to patients and their families.
  • Manage stock levels for linen and other supplies.

When your tasks prove to be challenging, our Wellbeing team will be there to support you as well as our in-house physiotherapy services.
