You will be joining our Medical Respiratory Team at Hinchingbrooke Hospital which consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and support staff, and is responsible for the assessment and treatment of a wide variety of patients to facilitate safe, timely discharges. This post will support your career and personal development by enabling you to develop your clinical and managerial skills in a friendly and supportive team through offering:

  • Clinical Specialist support
  • Protected non clinical SPA time

  • Regular Clinical Supervision
  • Joint working / Direct Observations of Practice
  • Access to CPD courses
  • Monthly regional Therapy Cluster meetings

This role is required to support Respiratory on-call rota.

Main duties of the job

  • To enable Physiotherapy to provide Therapy Skills within the inpatient service
  • To ensure safe, efficient and effective delivery of patient focussed care in line with identified evidence based practice, local and national standards
  • To work collaboratively within Multidisciplinary and Multi-agency Teams
  • To participate in delegated projects for service development with the team
  • To act autonomously in the assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have a complex presentation
  • To demonstrate a flexible approach to working in support of the whole in-patient team
  • To undertake weekend working as required within service developments
  • To be available to provide Clinical Supervision
  • This role entails 80% Clinical Contact and 20% Operational Management as appropriate within team requirements
  • To guide Band 5 and support staff in the management and delivery of therapeutic care plans
