Job summary

We are looking for an experienced, forward thinking Pharmacy Technician who is not afraid of change, who can "think outside the box" and who have the drive and ambition to "make a difference to patient care", to join our Pharmacy Dispensaries Team based at Peterborough City Hospital, North West Anglia Hospitals Foundation Trust.

You will be responsible for providing an accurate and efficient service in the pharmacy dispensaries supporting the dispensing of inpatients and outpatient prescriptions. You will be highly motivated and responsible individuals with a passion for customer service and team work.

You will need to be a Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC or due to register within the next 3 months. Hospital Pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential as all training will be provided.

Main duties of the job

To assist the Chief Pharmacist in providing comprehensive specialist pharmaceutical care and medicines management by the provision of safe, appropriate and effective clinical pharmacy services within North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, and areas supplied under Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring compliance with current medicines legislation.

To participate in the accurate and timely clinical supply of medications to in and out-patients and areas supplied under SLAs.

To support the technical aspects of the medicines management service and to deliver safe and accurate dispensing of prescriptions.

To act as an accredited checking technician on completion of ACPT qualification.
