Job summary

We continuously strive to ensure our patients and their families receive the right care, first time, every time. We are looking for a qualified nursery nurse who wants to specialise in paediatrics to work in our Children's and Young Persons Emergency Department.

Main duties of the job

To assist / work alongside the nursing staff in providing and maintaining high standards of care to the children and their families attending the children's and young person's Emergency Department.

Implement play and distraction for children receiving emergency care.

To ensure the emotional, social, physical and intellectual development needs of every child are met in liaison with other professional staff.

The post holder will work in support of registered nurses, doctors and allied health professionals. Supervision and teaching of Healthcare Assistants and Trainee Nursing Associates will be part of the role. It is anticipated that this role will continue to develop through the acquisition of further skills, knowledge and competencies to be determined within the clinical team with the focus on patient needs.
