Job summary
This full time post will help support and develop high quality care for the patients presenting to the Emergency department. The post holder will be based at Peterborough City Hospital.
The duties of the post are the normal duties of a doctor in this grade and specialty and he/she will be an integral part of this pleasant, efficient and progressive department, providing immediate medical care, and assisting in reviewing all follow-up patients.
The successful applicant will be encouraged to attend appropriate conferences and courses. The ability to work within a team and communicate effectively with patients, GP's and hospital colleagues is essential.
Educational support is provided to all junior medical staff, whether in established training grades or not. A weekly educational programme takes place within the department, including a monthly simulation practice session, and there is an opportunity to present interesting cases for the learning of all. Study Leave is also available and encouraged for life support courses.
We also support individual training needs by means of an allocated Educational Supervisor and aim to support applicants in obtaining other specialty experience before embarking on their continued career. We have a good record for Trust Grade doctors entering training after a period of time working in the department in Peterborough.
