Job summary
North West Anglia Foundation Trust are looking to employ a generalist ENT Head and Neck Consultant Surgeon with special interest in Otology to complement the current ENT team.
This is a full time 10 PA post, there is an expectation that the role will undertake sessions at both Hinchingbrooke Hospital and Peterborough City Hospital.
Applicants must be on the General Medical Council Specialist Register. In accordance with the regulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the GMC Specialist Register to be considered for a Consultant appointment by the Advisory Appointments Committee.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will participate in 1 in 8 non-residential third on call rota based at Peterborough Hospital. ENT emergency services are based at the Peterborough City Hospital with daytime emergency cover at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. Dedicated ENT on-call team comprising of ENT junior doctor, ENT middle grade and ENT consultant on-call provides ENT emergency cover for a vast catchment area that covers Huntingdon, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire area.
Elective activity ceases during the hot week of on-call to cover for the two sites with active A&Es. The post holder's sessions will include both outpatient and theatre sessions and will be in line with the proposed timetable below.
The successful candidate is expected to provide elective ENT outpatient and theatre services at Hinchingbrooke site in conjunction with colleagues and contribute to the development of ENT services as well as the teaching, training and clinical governance activities in the department. Future flexibility is expected in order to accommodate the growing demands of expanding population.

There are close links with Cambridge University Hospital to support patients that may require neuro-surgical / skull base management.
Extensive Endoscopic Otology work is undertaken in the department to deal with burden of cholesteatoma.
