Royal Papworth Hospital is one of the world's leading cardiothoracic centres, recognised for outstanding patient outcomes, pioneering research and a culture of excellence. We are seeking an exceptional Divisional Director of Operations for Cardiology to join our divisional leadership team.

As Divisional Director of Operations, you will provide strategic and operational leadership and be accountable to the Deputy Chief Operating Officer for performance and assurance. Working in a triumvirate with the Divisional Director and Divisional Head of Nursing, you will be responsible for delivering safe, effective and efficient services that reflect the Trust's values and commitment to excellence.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities include:

*Leadership and strategy: lead operational functions, work collaboratively with the Divisional Director and Head of Nursing to drive improvement initiatives and optimise patient care pathways.

*Operational excellence: develop and implement operational strategies to ensure the highest standards of patient care, outcomes and experience.

*Team management and development: foster an environment of continuous improvement and support the development of staff.

*Collaboration and stakeholder engagement: work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure system-wide goals are aligned.

*Decision-making and influence: influence Trust-wide initiatives and provide advice and guidance to senior management. You will deputise for the Deputy Chief Operating Officer and Divisional Director when required.
