Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our skilled phlebotomy team.

The Phlebotomy team work in both inpatient and outpatient areas across all areas of the hospital providing essential support to the wards and clinics, covering cardiology, surgery, specialist respiratory and transplant patients.

The phlebotomy team are based within a dedicated phlebotomy area in the Outpatient Department, whilst still providing a service to the wards. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a brand new environment at a time where we are developing our phlebotomy team.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for candidates who have experience and are confident in venepuncture and cannulation, however, we will consider those with no previous experience in phlebotomy and place on band 2 until all band 3 training and competencies are achieved.

The successful applicant would be caring and have excellent communication skills. Previous experience of venepuncture would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be given. Different working patterns would be considered but the shift pattern is 2 days between Monday - Friday from 07:30-15:30 in addition to 07:30-11:30 on Saturday and Sunday (1 weekend in a 4 week period).
