We are excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced, driven individual to join our senior leadership team as the Divisional Operations Director. In this role, you will work in close collaboration with the Divisional Clinical Director and Head of Nursing as part of the Triumvirate Leadership Team, leading operational strategies to deliver exceptional care.
As Divisional Operations Director, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the division, ensuring patient outcomes and experiences align with the Trust's standards of excellence. You will be responsible for influencing operational improvements, leading multi-professional teams and supporting a culture of innovation and excellence in healthcare.
The Division of Thoracic and Ambulatory (Respiratory Medicine) plays a pivotal role in delivering specialised care including the largest sleep study centre and leading centre for cystic fibrosis in the UK. Royal Papworth Hospital is renowned for its regional and national specialist services of which the division contributes to. The division also encompasses Outpatients and Ambulatory Care. The division prides itself on the highest levels of patient and staff satisfaction and engagement.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of the role of Divisional Operations Director is to support the Division in ensuring the provision of high-quality patient services that are clinically sound, delivered cost effectively and meet the Trust's priorities and performance targets.
Key responsibilities include:
Leadership and strategy: lead the operational functions within the division, working collaboratively with the Divisional Clinical Director and Head of Nursing to drive improvement initiatives and optimise patient care pathways.
Operational excellence: provide expert advice on the development and implementation of operational strategies that ensure the highest standards of patient care, outcomes and experience.

The post-holder will participate in the Trust's on-call team on a rotational basis.
The role will be based at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus but with a requirement to be able to work at Royal Papworth House, Huntingdon.
