We have a vacancy for a highly motivated, dedicated, and innovative registered practitioner to join our Theatre team as Theatre Lead for Education based. You will have the opportunity to support the development of perioperative care at Royal Papworth Hospital and will be crucial to our theatre transformation journey. Main duties of the job

The Theatre Lead for Education will lead on the creation and implementation of our education, role development and training strategy as well as supporting the Matron and Clinical Leadership Team for both Anaesthetics and Surgery to ensure opportunities for developing clinical practice are realised in line with standards of care.

The Theatre Education Lead is responsible and accountable for the delivery of safe, high-quality care for patients in the perioperative setting through highly visible, credible, and supportive leadership and by demonstrating role model behaviours. This includes the clinical, professional, and managerial leadership of the workforce and ensuring that clinical governance is firmly embedded within the perioperative area. The post holder will empower teams to ensure that practices are up to date and evidence based.

The Theatre Education Lead will support departmental and Trust objectives and act as deputy in the absence of the Clinical Leads and the Theatre Matron. They will hold overall responsibility for the management and organisation of their specialist area, including the workforce and associated operational tasks. The Theatre Education Lead will use their advanced knowledge of clinical practice to develop services to continually meet the needs of patients, other service users and the perioperative team.
