Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for experienced cardio-thoracic radiographers to join our expanding team. Based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus The post holder will be required to deputise for the area or Modality Lead or Deputy Lead Radiographers and assist in the efficient management and development of these specialist services.

It is an essential part of this role that the post holder will participate in the out of hours rota including the CT, X-ray and Cath lab services.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide an excellent service to our patients and stakeholders. You should be flexible, organised and possess a friendly and professional manner.

To be shortlisted for this role you must be fully competent and experienced in at least one of the following: cardiac cath labs, cardiac MRI, or cardiac CT (Experience in CT, stress testing examinations and interventional procedures would be an advantage).

The post holder will be expected to rotate through a minimum of two specialist modalities once fully trained, and to participate in out of hours duties.

You must be able to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team and taking part in the shift and on-call roster is an essential part of this role.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc in Radiography (or equivalent) plus specialist training to a masters level or equivalent experience
  • Current state registration with Health and Care Professions Council

Experience

Essential

  • Good theoretical and practical knowledge of a broad range of standard imaging techniques
  • Competent in basic and specialist radiographic skills in at least one of the following fields: Angiography, CT, MRI
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and Ionising Radiation Regulations
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • A team player able to work well with others and demonstrate commitment to team and service objectives.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy environment prioritising own work and others using own initiative.
  • Willingness to take on changes in service development

Desirable

  • IV cannulation skills
  • Competent in basic and specialist radiographic skills in at least two of the following fields: Angiography, CT, MRI
