A substantial post as a Research Nurse Team Leader has arisen at the HLRI Clinical Research Facility (HLRI CRF)

We are looking to appoint an experienced, efficient, and enthusiastic individual who will enjoy the challenge of delivering high quality research to assist in developing, supporting and promoting research involvement in clinical research for the HLRI CRF ensuring that studies are run to the highest standards incorporating Good Clinical Practice Guidelines.

You will be based at the new Heart Lung Research Institute (HLRI) and Royal Papworth Hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be managing clinical research studies conducted within the HLRI CRF, ensuring that studies are run to the highest standards incorporating Good Clinical Practice Guidelines.

The post holder will work at the HLRI CRF ensuring enough clinical research staff are available to maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff working on clinical trials.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the HLRI CRF team and the wider multi-disciplinary team in the management of clinical trial patients with responsibilities for assessing and managing the care pathways for patients and carers participating in clinical trials. This will involve the recruitment, education and monitoring of trial patients and the collection and documentation of accurate data.

The role involves using an in-depth knowledge of trial protocols and their application in practice, alongside a working knowledge of the requirements of local, national and international research regulations.

The post-holder will be sharing responsibility for the CRF Facility within the HLRI including department maintenance and equipment and will coordinate and manage new projects.

  • Registered Nurse educated to Degree level

  • Qualification to Masters level, or equivalent experience

  • Extensive Experienced in running research studies, at Band 6 (or equivalent) level, with evidence of advanced research knowledge.
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Proven experience of undertaking and coordinating research projects

  • Understanding of a clinical/hospital environment
