Job summary
An exciting new opportunity has arisen within the Thoracic Oncology Directorate. There is a high volume and fast turnover of patients undergoing investigations and procedures. This role involves providing a high quality, patient focused, efficient service guiding patients through their cancer pathway. The successful candidate will be responsible for complimenting the role of the Lung Cancer Nurse Specialists. A key aspect of the role includes contacting patients with suspected or confirmed cancer, informing them of the date and time of their forthcoming biopsy / investigation.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our team. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and enjoy working as part of a team. You will also have initiative and the ability to prioritise your workload and have a willingness to learn new areas of work as the service and role develops.
Previous experience of working in an NHS environment is highly desirable as well as a flexible approach to working hours. Electronic documentation of records is essential and you will be comfortable undertaking computer work and administration duties.
