Job summary
The role involves following departmental standard operating procedures to provide support to a high quality, efficient and complete administrative service within the Department, being responsible for all administration support to the Ward Sister and senior nursing staff.
The key duties of the role are to maintain electronic and paper-based databases, including the creation and upkeep of the monthly Nursing Roster, to ensure the ward is appropriately staffed; diary management and general office administration. This involves verbal and written communication with patients and professional colleagues about routine clinical or work-related matters as well as accurate data entry. Ensuring adequate stocks are held, managed and ordered in a timely manner.
Main duties of the job
To assist in the creation of the monthly Nursing Roster, ensuring the ward is appropriately staffed. To assist in ensuring that the ward has adequate nursing cover, on a day to day basis, using e-Rostering.
To keep staff personnel files up to date, where appropriate and to keep staff personal details up to date on the e-Rostering system, with regards to appraisals; non-effectives and competences.
Keep Productive Ward Data Collator, all audit data and display boards up to date.
Minute taking, type and distribute minutes for meetings as required.
Manage diary of the Ward Sisters.
