Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust is now recruiting forSenior Clinical Advisorsin ourEmergency OperationsCentres(999)based in Wakefield and York.
Here at Yorkshire AmbulanceService we have exciting developments and opportunities lined up over the next few years and are looking for individuals who are highly motivated,enthusiasticand committed to assist with these changes.
We are currently only recruiting clinicians who are NMC RN1 or HCPC Paramedic registered.We do not accept NMC PRN Pin as it does not fulfil the essential criteria for the role.

Internal Paramedic Applicants:You can choose to work 100% as an EOC Senior Clinical Advisor or opt for a rotational role spending 5 weeks in your A&E operational role and 5 weeks in EOC. Your preference will be requested during the application process. Please note - This vacancy is only for Wakefield & York callcentres. Remote Hub vacancies will be advertised separatelywhen available.
Training:You willcommenceyour role on a training contract until successful completion of yourtraining, followingthis you will then be moved onto a permanent contract. We do not have anyhomeworkingopportunities.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Clinical Advisoris responsible forthe assessment of health and clinical needs,utilisingevidence-based practice, professional clinical judgement, supported by decision support software, to achieveappropriate safeclinical outcomes for our patients.
This requires generalist and specialist skills as a healthcareprofessional to assess and deliver care to patients.
Applicants should have experience in emergency care, assessment of high acuity symptoms, a broad knowledge ofconditionsand an understanding of red flag symptoms and consequence.
As a Senior Clinical Advisor, you will need to be able todemonstratethe following key skills:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Work with a variety of clinical specialists to ensure safe clinical processes for patients

The ability to make quick safe clinical decisions under pressure and the ability to assess andidentifyred flag symptoms and conditions

Undertake referrals to internal and external clinicians
You will providea medicalassessment, medication advice, healthinformationand implement care packages to a range of individuals, liaising with other agencies and healthcare providers, as necessary.
